Using your Zoom recordings in the Member Area
Self Therapie Formation â Member Area Last updated: 27 July 2026
The Member Area lets you create a Selfi analysis directly from a Zoom meeting you recorded to the cloud â without downloading it, without re-uploading it anywhere else, and without any copy being kept by Self Therapie Formation.
This page covers the three stages of the app's life: adding it, using it, removing it.
What you need
- access to the Member Area (
https://app.selftherapie.com); - a Zoom account with cloud recording (not available on free Zoom accounts);
- at least one meeting recorded to the cloud within the last twelve months.
1. Adding the app
The app is added from the Member Area â there is nothing to install, either on your computer or from the Zoom Marketplace.
- Sign in to
https://app.selftherapie.com. - Open the Selfi page.
- Click "Add a Selfi".
- In the window that opens, select the "Zoom video" tab.
- Click "Connect my Zoom account".
- You are taken to Zoom's official authorization screen. Sign in to your Zoom account if you have not already, review the requested permissions, then click "Allow".
- Zoom brings you back automatically to the Member Area, to the "Add a Selfi" window, "Zoom video" tab. Your recordings from the last twelve months are listed.
That's it: the connection is saved. You will not need to repeat it on later visits.
Permissions requested, and why
| Permission | What it allows us to do |
|---|---|
| Read your user profile | know which Zoom account is connected, and show its name and picture in the account menu |
| List your cloud recordings | present the list of your recorded meetings |
| List the files of a recording | retrieve the view you selected (speaker, gallery, shared screenâŠ) |
| Read a recording | play the video inside the Member Area |
We request nothing else: no transcripts, no in-meeting chat, no participant lists, no access to your ongoing meetings. No video is copied to our servers. Full details are in the privacy policy.
Connecting several Zoom accounts
You can attach several Zoom accounts (for example a work account and a personal one). Open the Zoom account menu â the row at the top of the "Zoom video" tab, showing the account's picture and name â then choose "Connect another account".
â ïž Important: as long as your browser stays signed in to zoom.us, Zoom
re-authorises the already open account automatically, and it would look as if
nothing happened. That is why the command first opens a small window that signs
you out of zoom.us for a few seconds, before showing the Zoom sign-in screen.
Allow pop-ups for app.selftherapie.com, otherwise your browser will block
the operation.
Once several accounts are connected, the menu lets you switch between them: the list of recordings reloads for the chosen account.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What is happening | What to do |
|---|---|---|
"Something went wrong" on marketplace.zoom.us when authorising | the app is not published yet and your Zoom account is not attached to the publisher's account | write to us: this block disappears once the app is published |
| "Zoom connection failed â invalid or expired OAuth return" | the authorization flow is only valid for ten minutes | start again from "Add a Selfi" â "Zoom video" |
| "Your browser blocked the zoom.us sign-out window" | pop-ups are disallowed for the site | allow them for app.selftherapie.com, then try again |
| "No cloud recording found over the last 12 months of your Zoom account" | the recording stayed local (on your computer), or is older than twelve months, or is not in MP4 format, or your Zoom account has no cloud recording | record to the cloud at your next session; check the Zoom account's licence |
| "Could not load your Zoom recordings" | the authorization has expired or was revoked on the Zoom side | use "Reconnect my Zoom account" |
| "Recording not found: deleted or purged at Zoom" | the recording no longer exists at Zoom (manual deletion or automatic purge) | the Selfi analysis must be rebuilt from another recording |
| "Authorization revoked by the owner of the Zoom account" | someone removed the app from the Zoom account | reconnect the account |
| The video does not start | slow connection, or a tab left open for a very long time | reload the page and start playback again |
If none of this resolves your problem, write to us at espace.membre@selftherapie.com (see the support page).
2. Using the app
Creating a Selfi from a Zoom recording
- Selfi page â "Add a Selfi" â "Zoom video" tab.
- The list shows your recorded meetings from the last twelve months, most recent first. Each meeting expands to show its different views: "Shared screen + speaker", "Gallery", "Speaker"⊠A single meeting produces one file per view.
- Use the "Search a recordingâŠ" field to find a meeting by its topic.
- Click the play icon on a row to preview the video before deciding.
- Select the view you want, give your Selfi a title, then click "Create".
The Selfi then appears in your gallery. When you open it, the video is streamed from Zoom on demand: nothing has been copied, and the analysis stays tied to the original recording.
Analysing, annotating, sharing
Once the Selfi is created, you work with it as with any other Selfi: markers on the timeline, analysis elements, comments.
Sharing â you can share the analysis with any registered member of the Member Area: typically a supervisor or a trainer, but also a peer from your practice group. The recipient will then be able to watch the associated Zoom recording for as long as the share lasts. A reminder from the terms of use: only recordings of IRÂź Model practice sessions between members may be uploaded or shared â never a recording revealing the content of an exchange with a patient â and the people filmed must have given their consent.
The recipient only gains access to that specific video â never to the rest of your Zoom account â and cannot re-share it: you remain the only one deciding who sees it.
Switching Zoom accounts
The Zoom account menu, at the top of the "Zoom video" tab, lets you switch between your connected accounts. Each Selfi stays attached to the account it was created with: connecting a new account never makes earlier Selfis unplayable.
Good to know
- Only cloud recordings, in MP4 format, from the last twelve months are offered.
- The video is streamed in chunks: playback starts quickly, and seeking along the timeline works normally.
- If you delete the recording at Zoom, the Selfi remains but the video can no longer be played.
3. Removing the app
Two routes, as you prefer. They have exactly the same effect: the authorization is revoked at Zoom, and Self Therapie Formation deletes the data it holds (Zoom account email address, user ID, encrypted token).
From the Member Area
- Selfi page â "Add a Selfi" â "Zoom video" tab.
- Open the Zoom account menu (the row showing the account's picture and name).
- Choose "Disconnect this account".
- Confirm.
From your Zoom account
- Sign in to
https://zoom.us. - Open the Zoom Marketplace, then "Manage" â "Added Apps".
- Find Espace Membres STF and click "Remove".
Zoom notifies us automatically; the deletion is carried out on our side with no further action from you, and we acknowledge it back to Zoom.
What happens next
- The Member Area has no access whatsoever to your Zoom account or your recordings any more.
- Your recordings remain intact at Zoom: we never had a copy of them.
- Selfis created from that account remain, with their annotations, but their video can no longer be played. To restore it, reconnect the same Zoom account. To erase everything, delete the Selfi.
- The rest of your Member Area is unaffected.
